The Bundian Way is an ancient pathway between the NSW Sapphire Coast and the Snowy Mountains that Aboriginal people from Yuin, Ngarigo, Jaitmathang, Bidawal Country have walked for thousands of years. The 1.8km Bundian Way Story Trail in Eden provides a snapshot of this incredible journey, with interpretive signage and stories that you can read, learn and enjoy.
Cultural tours along the Bundian Way Story Trail provide opportunity for further insight into the history and significance of this walk, as you hear first hand from Aboriginal community members about stories of country and stories of people.

The Bundian Way is a traditional Aboriginal pathway which people of this region have used for thousands upon thousands of years. The Bundian Way gives us a vehicle for intergenerational knowledge exchange and allows us to reclaim elements of culture and pass them on to our youth.
The Bundian Way Story Trail is a short walk around the coastal headlands of Cocora Beach and Quarantine Bay. We’ve designed it to give you a snippet into what the Bundian Way is in its entirety and make it accessible to everybody."
Follow the ancient steps of the Bundian Way along the 1.8km Story Trail from Cocora Beach to Quarantine Bay, with sweeping coastal views and interpretive stories about the people who have walked this trail for thousands of years.
Beginning at Cocora Beach, the Story Trail leads through native bushland to a specially built Bunang Ring (ceremonial performance place), gently up Cocora Point and to Budginbro Lookout. From here, follow the Story Trail past Sealers Lookout and along the sand at Bungo Beach, onwards to Brierly Lookout overlooking Rixons Beach, finishing at Quarantine Bay.
There is free parking at Cocora Beach, as well as public toilets, a kids playground and BBQ facilities. There is also parking at Quarantine Bay.
The Bundian Way is an ancient 365km pathway from from Turemulerrer (Twofold Bay) to the mountain ranges of Targangal (Mount Kosciuszko), the highest point on the Australian mainland. The pathway leads through a remarkable variety of bush landscapes, across plains, river and mountain ranges.
The Bundian Way provided safe passage between the coast and the high country for Aboriginal people from Yuin, Ngarigo, Jaitmathang, Bidawal Country. Travel along the pathway allowed different tribal groups to gather on the shores of Turemulerrer (Twofold Bay) during the spring whale migration and ceremonial places near Targangal (Mount Kosciuszko) for the Bogong gatherings in summer.
In 2013 the NSW Government officially recognised the Bundian Way’s cultural, historical and wilderness significance with a Heritage listing.
The Bundian Way is currently in development to become a connected walking track, but is not open for walkers yet. To get a taste of the Bundian Way, you are invited to experience the Story Trail and Whale Dreaming Trail in Eden and the Bundian Way Art Gallery in Delegate, which are projects proudly presented by Eden Local Aboriginal Land Council.
