Explore our pristine estuaries, rivers and lakes on a kayaking adventure with Navigate Expeditions. Glide along the crystal-clear waters of Pambula River Mouth on the fringe of Beowa National Park, visit an oyster farm and taste freshly shucked oysters at Pambula Lake, or go swimming at your own private cove with a beachside picnic.

You can sample the ‘merroir’ (like terroir - but for oysters!) of our five key oyster-producing estuaries including Wonboyn Lake, Pambula Lake, Merimbula Lake, Nelson Lagoon and Wapengo Lagoon. Explore the cultural connections and stories of our wild waters with Yandama on Country. Yandama on Country welcomes you for gentle, immersive cultural experiences on Thaua Country at beautiful Twofold Bay in Eden and the Jiguma Track at Pambula Beach. Take part in an intimate smoking ceremony before being guided through country by local Indigenous tour guide Nathan Lygon, hearing stories of plants, animals, traditional foods and medicines, Cultural land management and more.
Yandama on Country has also teamed up with Navigate Expeditions to provide cultural kayaking tours at spectacular Pambula River, including kayaking, conversation and morning tea at Severs Beach. Paddle with a local Indigenous guide and listen to stories of culture, history and lore that will reveal Pambula River in a whole new light. On this journey you will gain an understanding of local wildlife names, gather knowledge about traditional bush foods, and marvel at the pristine surroundings that have held meaning for generations.
Dive into the pristine waters of the Sapphire Coast at our spectacular ocean pools. The most famous among our sea pools is Bermagui’s Blue Pool. At 50-metres long, it is situated as the base of a dramatic rock face with stunning opaline hues. Aslings Beach Rock Pool is a pretty pool in Eden, surrounded by pink and white cliffs and a stunning spot for a splash. Bermagui's lesser-known Bruce Steer Pool is an idyllic spot for morning laps situated on the edge of Bermagui Harbour. This netted pool is approximately 150m long and features an all-abilities ramp.
There’s nothing like the freedom of the open sea! Embark on an exhilarating marine wildlife adventure with Sapphire Coastal Adventures and explore our wild waters teeming with life. Join Dive Eden for a guided snorkelling tour in Eden, encountering magical seagrass gardens, vibrant sea life and pristine marine environments. Explore pristine shallow bays and beaches, with the opportunity to encounter seahorses, octopus and nudibranchs. Dive Eden’s professional SSI accredited guides will show you all the best spots and offer you their local tips and knowledge, helping you to better understand the local environment for an immersive underwater adventure.
Tours include all equipment and tuition, usually taking place on weekday afternoons and some weekends. If you’re up for a bigger underwater adventure, Dive Eden offers guided scuba diving, as well as scuba diving certification courses and freediving courses.
Nothing says Sapphire Coast quite like surf school! Camel Rock Surf School offers beginner, family and intermediate surf lessons in Bermagui, whilst CoastLife Adventures provides surf lessons at Pambula Beach and Tathra. Surf school is a great way for kids to gain ocean skills and confidence in the water whilst experiencing some ocean stoke!

The Sapphire Coast is ideally suited to marine adventures with 160km of pristine coastline encompassing headlands, embayments, coastal inlets, lakes and an abundance of undisturbed beaches. Running parallel to this coastal fringe is a narrow expanse of shallow kelp-covered reefs that are buffered by sandy bottom. These reefs provide robust habitat for all manner of marine life that can be seen a short distance from the shore in many locations.
