GOLF
The Sapphire Coast offers a smorgasbord of golf courses, some internationally-acclaimed and each with its own unique style, there are five within one hour’s drive of Merimbula.
You can share the 27-hole course at
Pambula-Merimbula Golf Club with local wildlife, or try to avoid hitting the centuries-old gum trees on the 18-hole course at
Bega. More fabulous 18-hole courses can be found at the coastal villages of
Eden,
Bermagui,
Tathra and the glorious
Tura Beach.
LAWN BOWLS
Lovers of bowls will often tell you it’s not just the challenge and tactical skill required that gets them hooked, it’s the pleasure of spending time outdoors and the social interaction that keeps them coming back.
With clubs up and down our coast offering a myriad of bowling experiences, the Sapphire Coast is a great place to indulge in this fabulous pastime. From companionable beachside greens at
Tathra to world class covered rinks at
Merimbula, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
SAPPHIRE COAST TURF CLUB
Set on a picturesque 300-acre site between Merimbula and Tathra, Sapphire Coast Turf Club is known as the Jewel of Country Racing and one of NSW's premier country race tracks.
Punters enjoy great trackside views and facilities, free buses from major towns, TAB and both local and interstate bookies. It is one of the newest and most modern country racecourses in NSW and boasts a Members Reserve and Function Centre as well as picnic and family-friendly grassy slopes.
The club holds 11 race meetings each season with jockeys and trainers coming to compete from all over Australia.
